- “The secret of getting ahead is getting started.” – Mark Twain
Just start. You cant get ahead by standing still. Even if you move at a slow pace it’s better than not doing anything at all. I took a step back and looked at my site and my post history. I never fully realized how little I was interacting with my site and the people that might have wanted more content from me. BUT I am happy that I did start my website and that I did have some posts already. It helped push me forward. I got started.
2. “It’s hard to beat a person who never gives up.” – Babe Ruth
How can you lose if you never give up? You try and try again, learning from past failures lessons until you get it right. Simple. It will be harder to beat you if you never give up. Never give up on your dreams, never give up on yourself.
3. “Do one thing every day that scares you.”― Eleanor Roosevelt
Your greatest accomplishment might be hiding right behind the veil of fear. You never know what is on the other side of that fear unless you conquer it and try new things. It is in the uncomfortable that creativity is sparked.
4. “This too shall pass.” — Medieval Levent proverb
This one made the list again because it can hold true day in and day out. Life is not perfect but our mindset and our outlook can change everything. Just remember if we are having a bad moment, a bad day, a bad week – it too shall pass.
5. “We need to accept that we won’t always make the right decisions, that we’ll screw up royally sometimes – understanding that failure is not the opposite of success, it’s part of success.” – Arianna Huffington
Maybe it’s the uncertainty, the fear of failure that keeps you planted where you are. But we need to understand that no one can be right 100% of the time. No one can see beyond what is right in front of them. Failure is part of the process. Take failure as a lesson. Learn all you can from it and use that in your next endeavor.
6. “Whatever you are, be a good one.” ― Abraham Lincoln
It doesn’t matter what you are in life, try and be a good one at it. Be great at it. Research and learn and invest in yourself until you are the best that you can be at what you do. It doesn’t matter where your heart leads just don’t half ass it, you owe it to yourself to be a good one.
7. “If we have the attitude that it’s going to be a great day it usually is.” – Catherine Pulsifier
Here we go with mindset and outlook again. Believe it or not a negative mindset or thoughts can disrupt your outlook and throw off your whole attitude. Try it. Every time a negative thought pops into your head, “Oh I can’t do that.” “They don’t like me.” “Everything sucks.”, try and shake the thought and replace it with positivity. You don’t know if you can do something until you try. If you’re not good at something, practice until you are. You think someone doesn’t like you? Ask yourself why? Have they told you this personally? Most of the time we make up scenarios in our head that simply do not exist. Everything sucks? We might have bad moments but they do not make up the whole that is our day or life. Does everything really suck or did you spill your coffee/running late for work/missed a deadline and it’s only a series of small events that sucked? Life moves on and small things fade.
8. “Push yourself until your limitations become your expectations.” – Unknown
We can only grow better through learning more about ourselves. Limitations might not actually be our limitations but we will not know until we exert ourselves.
9. “The secret of happiness, you see, is not found in seeking more, but in developing the capacity to enjoy less.” – Socrates
Stop and take a look around you. We all have things we should be thankful for. Sometimes we get so caught up in what’s the next things we want or always trying to get more that we miss the important things. Enjoy what you have. Savor every moment that you are alive and it is possible to do so.
10. “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take. -Wayne Gretzky” -Michael Scott
The Office fans will get the reference :). How are you going to get what you want unless you try? You never know if a yes is waiting for you but your answer will always be “No” unless you take your shot.
I just want to say thank you for taking the time to read another one of my posts. Have anything to say? Just leave a comment below and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
