Fear Within

Sometimes I’m scared of saying what I feel

Of letting the wrong words slip out

Letting the wrong emotions take hold

Sometimes I’m scared

Of what’s to come

Of what might happen

Some days I feel like a surge of emotion

Rushes, boils, overflows within me

Like the words have risen to the top

But become stuck, trapped

Within my throat

Caught somewhere between despair and hope
